1. C-130jJ SUPER HERCULES CRASHED :

  • C-130J sSuper hercules transport aircraft of Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in karoli district of Rajasthan. Five crew member including four officers were killed in the crash.

  • India has inducted six-C-130J Super Hercules Aircraft, which were brought from U.S at the cost of around 6000 crore(1.1 billion US dollar) . This air craft has been engineered to carry a weight up to 20 tonnes and has the capability to land and take-off from short runways.

2MADE NIGHT TEST OF AGNI MISSILE :

  • India successfully conducted maiden night test of its indigenously devloped nuclear- capable agni-I ballistic missile with strike range of 700 km from a test range off odisha cost.

3. SOLAR PLANE IMPULSE 2 UNVEILED IN SWITZERLAND :

  • The upgraded solar -powered plane Solar Impulse 2 was unveiled  in April 2014 at Payerne Air Force Base of Switzerland.
  •  The Solar Plane will circumnavigate the world in March 2015.
  • The maximum speed of aircraft is 140 km per hour(87 mph).

4. SMARTPHONE BATTERY NANODOTS DEVELOPED:

  •  An Israeli startup StoreDot in April 2014 developed a new smart phone battery that can recharge a smart phone in just 30 seconds.
  • Its name is NANODOTS.
  • The Nanodots batteries are made of naturally occurring crystals made of short chain of amino acid called Peptides.
  • These are environment Friendly  .

5. “GOOGLE GLASS” BY GOOGLE:

  • Google signed a deal in march 2014 with Ray – Ban maker Luxottica to make Google Glass spectacles into a stylish consumer product.
  • Italy based world’s biggest eyewear Luxottica will design, develop and distribute google glass eyewear.
  • Google glass is small stamp-sized screen attached to a pair of spectacle frames.
  • It can acess email, retrieve information , record video from web by connecting wireless to a user’s cell phone.
